Long time user, first time poster- hi, everyone.

I've run into this strange problem wherein I can't seem to play any of the AIFs or WAVs from about 5 packs I just downloaded. They're all there, though they're seen in finder as generic Document files. Follow me here? They won't open in my audio editors, won't preview, nothing. Am I missing something here? These seems like it's such a simple thing but I'm completely lost.
