I can play the sounds on the website but after I download them my WAV player says the file has the wrong header. I can play other WAV files with no problems just not the ones from this site.

Which ones? Not all WAVs are the same format on this site. What's your WAV player? Try Foobar2000: http://www.foobar2000.org

Are you using windows? Can I recommend wavepad.

Alternatively, type wave pad or wavepad in to google search.
