I always add a direct link to a file when I attribute sounds (or url when used in videos). It'd be nasty if all of a sudden they'd be dead.
yeahhhhh that makes sense.. i guess being able to delete files isnt a great idea but i think there should still be an easier way to manage sample packs and tag multiple samples etc
perhaps instead of deleting a sample one could exclude it from their packs and remove its tags? that way its still there for people who have downloaded it
Really? There's no way for a user like me to delete a sample? That's just silly. I have been searching around a bit, as I have one that is flawed (see my main page) and it's simply a waste of space (and a waste of time/bandwidth for anybody who mistakenly downloads it).

Bram
all files deleted.
do you want me to delete your login as well?- bram
Why do you have to do that for he just asked a question?
timtube: you should read the context... I never just delete people. Sometimes people want to be removed from freesound. I thought ChuckB wanted to be deleted...

And while we're at it, could you please delete
http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=57205
This version was uploaded in error (and was immediately replaced with the correct uploaded sample of the same name, but for some reason the first one was added anyway). As far as I can tell no one has downloaded it or use it; it's tagged "delete-me".
And, more generally, count me in as one would would appreciate better control over the presentation of my contributed files, including the ability to delete them (especially immediately after they've been added), to say nothing of paragraphs, links, etc in the descriptions.
Thanks

mab: all those features (an more) will be added to Nightingale (i.e. freesound 2.0)

1. Search results need to be delivered in multi-page format, ala google, so a user can select a page by number instead of having to step serially through all the results. For example, if i get 1,000 results, i can't test them all in a single sitting. So i might go thru 5 pages worth, then when i come back .. and research using the same criteria .. i won't have to step thru the 5 (or 10, or 100) pages that i've already looked at.
2. How about starting a thread that includes ONLY the deletion-related posts? It seems that 99% of the posts in this thread are about deletions. Get them out of the way.
Otherwise, great site! Thanks.
