Since on "Bug Reports, Errors and Feature Requests" nobody seems to react to bug reports, errors and feature requests, and this is rather a cosmetic improvement (not related to website engine), I decided to put this idea here, where more admin/moderator activities seem to appear.
I would make here a sub-forum called "Favourites" or something like that. Idea somewhat similar to "sample requests". People could start a topic, using tag-like formula, and so the exchange begins. For example: "My favourite nature recordings", or - "My favourite birdsongs", or - "Best synth pads I ever heard" or "My techno trance recommendations", and so on. Then - people would paste their links to FS sounds and packs in such topics, adding some personal comments, discuss in a wider context.
Yes, there is search engine, and there are tags, and there are comments to samples. But this is another way of interacting between users and the good stuff here. Shaping the vision. Also - it would be fair play between new and old additions to freesound, wider than tags only and wider than individual ideas for searching phrases. If you live in big city, you don't run around the town to visit all of your friends, but rather you try to meet all together in one selected place.
Sometimes a good idea is a simple idea.
Think about it, wake up Bram, and make it happen. (-;
While I go sleep, it was a long day...
ayamahambo, the point to bear in mind is that no improvements are likely to happen to this Freesound website, as a complete replacement is currently being prepared.
That why I wrote regarding a possible update on conversation board (forum) only, which will be/stay a conversation board anyway, no matter how the FS engine change. Unless the engine changes so drastically, that the conversation board will be not needed anymore (-;
I admit, that I haven't read about incoming changes. I will read about them, when I see them in action, when I see how they work.
