Hello.
I'm new here and just signed up today. I was approached from a friend asking if I could create a short cartoon animation about termites for his pest control site. I was wondering what would be the legality of using some sound fx like door closing, restaurant ambience, gravel walking. stuff like that. I tried reading the creative commons and but got confused on the way.

If the animation is an advertisement using sounds from this site is a no-no ...

You may not use this work to advertise for or promote anything but the work you create from it.

If you contact the creators of the Freesounds you want to use and obtain their permission for use in an advertisement that would be OK.
