I recorded the speech of a father of a son that was murdered in the UK riots. A very moving speech he did to the media but I wonder if using it in my rap track will get me into copyright / permission problems. I think I have used the sample respectfully but who knows the man himself could strongly object if he found out. I have put so much work into this track I really don't want to give up on it now. Any thoughts re copyright etc?
I know which man you mean, he deserves a lot of respect, any way you could ask him ? Could be via the TV company who interviewed him, a letter to him "care of" or something similar. Just a thought.
Good idea. This has made me think even more cautiously. So, I have decided to to take the easier option and remove much of his speech from the rap. I've left a few snippits of his speech along with other speeches - more in the background rather than fronting the track.

Ooo.. I see what you mean. Mind you that is the Daily Mail. Thanks for the warning!
Well here it is. Hopefully not too problematic. If anyone should be cross with it it should be David Cameron!
