    Band promotional video

    Hi to all,

I am a bit confused about using these great samples in promotional material.
I made a video to promote my brothers band. Can i use some of freesound -samples in it?
I am not selling the video, just going to upload it to Youtube and Facebook.

    Best wishes,
    Ari

    Hi again,

Ok, here is the situation now:

Video that i mentioned above contains samples from 3 different authors. I sent private messages
to all of them, and i get the permissions from 2 authors (many thanks to them!). Now it seems
that i cant reach the Third one. Now i think that the safest way is to remove the sample of the
Third author from my video and replace it to the sample which i can get the permission. Fortunately it is easily replaceable.

But what if i, in the future, found the perfect and irreplaceable sample (i think this kind of situation is possible smile),
and i cant reach the author. Can i use (according to CC Sampling Plus 1.0) these samples in my self-made
    band promotional material?

And finally i must say that i have read CC Sampling Plus 1.0 -license agreement and searched from this forum many many times but, as you can see, i don't get the point smile

Depends how the sample is used. If it's part of the band's songs you are promoting, then yes, you can. If it's not part of a song, then no, you can't use it in advertisements.

Ok, thank you for your reply, nemoDaedalus.

So i always ask/need authors permission for projects like this.

Once again, i want to thank you, this awesome site and contributors for making possible to spice
    up our projects. smile

Yes, but in the future, Freesound will support more licenses, with less limitations. Once that happens, you can use some sounds for more purposes without asking for permission.

I look forward to that. Thanks for the info.
