    BeeFree

Meet Bee. This Bee is Free.
    http://www.planetaziemia.net/counter/click.php?id=50
You can make with it very useful or very funny sounds.
To record output - use soundcards' "wave" as input in your host.
(some features are under development; it's a part of larger project).

    Video tutorial is under construction.

    Have fun (-;

BeeFree is expanding. Version 1.1: added harmonics.

What you can do with harmonics? Even more fun - meet Crazy Sam:

Plus - I made first video tutorial on BeeFree (english):

Bee series was initially designed for advanced/professional brain entrainment productions, but it expands a little bit into other areas. Mad science. smile

BeeFree is the oldest and simplest version of Bee.

    Here is a copy/paste info:

    -----------------------------------------------------
Pszczolka, in english "Bee" (dual-meaning word) - is an application for professional production of soundspaces that support brain neural acting, or to be more specific - co-operation within the body-brain-consciousness interface. BEE is a shortcut for "Brain Entrainment Entertainment", which freely means that creating brain-dedicated acoustic environments - can also be a fun; so - through the fun to the... brain synchronization.

HSE BEE is a progressive series. To simplify certain ideas and open for new, unknown but creative directions - some apps has been split into rather directional units.

    (...)

    Main functions:

    1. standalone and VST plugin (for DAWs like Reaper, Audacity, Cubase, etc.); standalone apps are well designed for testing concepts, and plugins - for rendering and mixing,
    2. multiple high quality tonal oscillators (good sound),
    3. real time audition - work live! and hear the difference,
    4. dedicated controlers: sliders, steppers, value fields, range limiters, high precision, metric values (Hz, dB, etc.),
    5. dedicated frequency injectors: note equivalents (various tunings) or from user custom lists, octavizers,
    6. support for harmonic relationships,
    7. syncing the oscillators,
    8. value randomizers (quick start, creative ideas),
    9. custom reference setups: to channel, value or direction,
    10. dedicated modifiers: amplitude (autopanner, ring mod), frequency, phase modulators - AM, FM, PM,
    11. mix and panning of signals and parameters, plus advanced phase setups,
    12. dedicated slow modulators (smod) - for almost all available parameters,
    13. experimental and simplified simulation of singing bowls,
    14. quick default setups for modules,
    15. VST edition - advanced timeline automation,
    16. exchangeable common parameters for apps in the series,
    17. storage allows for about 100 presets,
    -- ...and even more!

    (...)

    Main concepts:

    1. see our specs (link) for brain entrainment soundspaces generated technically (through sound synthesis and modulations), to understand the role of binaural beats and other types of vibrations,
    2. microtuning the sound pitch allows to modify the harmonic vibration (like in chords)
    3. phase settings and phase motion direction, are the invisible core of many brain entrainment techniques
    4. mix and panning - the space, emphasis and subtleness
    5. amplitude modulation AM (autopanning, ring modulation, tremolo), among other things is a tool for creating monoaural beats and isochronic tones,
    6. phase modulation PM, is an equivalent of proposed by The Monroe Institute - spatial/angular modulation,
    7. frequency modulation FM (vibrato) - re-tuning, softening and vibrating the sound in other ways
    8. slow modulators (smod) is a comfortable equivalent of timeline modifications (allows for regular periodicity)
    9. injectors and randomizers allow quick and creative start
    10. tuning systems on injectors (12-TET, pythagorean, harmonic) allow to create harmonies based upon musical principles.
    11. data sonification (like physical phenomenons) for auditory presentations.

    (...)

    SMOD - Details:

    - is made of 16 sine-based sounding units (even more - if you understand the sound modulation principles),
    - with full equipment of modulators: AM, FM, PM, SMOD (for almost all parameters),
    - with minimal support for harmonic series and chords,
    - VST edition works with automation = timeline.

    HMS - Details:

    - is made of 27 sine-based sounding units,
    - with full support for harmonic series and chords,
    - without AM/FM/PM modulators and with minimal SMOD (for selected parameters) support,
    - VST edition works with automation = timeline.

    Simple (in progress)

    - is a 1 panel that combines SMOD and HMS functionalities,
    - ideal for VST environment (pannels can be co-automated),
    - widh additional signal randomization and correlation tools,
    - 6-band module made of APR filters and peak filters, based on: white noise generator, custom samples/loops (*.wav) and soundcard's input (or VST processing source),
    - additional signal generators (incl. random flow),

Very "maybe", but could be interesting. It does not depends on me. Currently - it's Windows only. I would have to switch into different environment, learn everything from scratch, and port the concepts then; a lot of important details. Have you tried via some Windows emulator on Mac? I'm curious if it can work this way, and to what degree (it's CPU eater under heavy load).

I have a PC as my main machine but its broken until further notice. So I use my mac for sound work now.

Yes I have tried it with an emulator called "wine", I tried opening it directly into the windows environment with X11 and then packaged it with "wine bottler" into a mac application. Both of these methods presented an unresponsive program. I will have to try it again soon, just to make sure it wasn't functional.

I think it would be a good investment to program the application in native mac environment, for the reason that many (and an increasing number) of music producers and sound designers use mac OSX exclusively. If you want to reach a wider consumer-base then multi platform is the way to go.

Thanks for info. We see here Mac/OSX only in TV or internet. Maybe a few people I know - have Mac. We are native Windows users, I never had my hands on Mac. I guess, the popularity depends on region and sector.

Sure, give me money, so I can invest (hardware, software, learning, bills, food, life). wink If you are open to that degree, then I can change my mind too. smile

I selected this environment, predicting how fast I can get expected results, and to what degree they will satisfy me (as producer) on first place. I don't want to get stuck with programming only. I'm creating these apps for specific practical needs. If other professionals, as professionals - recognize this software as great or useful, then they should have enough money (they are "pro", aren't they?), to get it, and to buy a PC for it - without any discussion on "what is right" (Windows driven laptops aren't so expensive, and they don't take too much place). And to such folks - I can and am ready to give the best I can, in terms of additional support.

In time, depending on where all goes - I can think about multi-platform, but it's not priority for right now. Few other tools are on-the-go, and at least basic documentation.

    //edit:

But I think what I could do. Some web interface, so that people can collaborate. You click from your Mac, and person with PC gets the results, and you can hear the results via some sort of live streaming or skype - thing like that. wink

Another thought - are there services/servers that can virtually run windows applications and share the interface via web? Or give access through web.

Is there an official page for that software? I don't trust off-site links that are direct downloads (especially unannounced and not guessable when looking at the URL).
