3 Weeks in Europe and this sound is one memory that just sticks to it all. If anyone knows how to get or recreate a copy of the 2-tone heavy bll sound from the station arrival announcement (the video below has it)
youtube.com/watch?v=xOAgvPjNpi8
It is obviously synthesized, but I can't manage to effectively recreate it from existing samples. I dont have lots of tools either, any help is appreciated.
Hey there -- I once found a sample with a relatively good capture:

I haven't downloaded it, but it seems to be of good quality - Note that it probably wont be possible to capture the chime without the background noise of the engine as these announcements are played automatically (I think).
Is that one sufficient?
I managed to wash the youtube track out with audacity and isolate the sound pretty well - sample rate isnt too high though, so a higher bitrate will be appreciated. I'll give it a shot this weekend, thanks for the link!
When I recently found ALL announcments of the subway in Vienna, I remembered your request; so, if you´re still interested, here´s the link: http://www.fpdwl.at/forum/downloads/
enjoy!
