Hello all. I am rather new to these forums and wanted to say hello to all along with my sound requests.
I am hoping that someone out there could possibly assist me. As a hobby I make nature sounds tracks for personal use as well as made free for those who wish to enjoy them. Some of my sound requests may seem dd and simple to get but where I live is a bit of an odd place. We don't have thunderstorms or severe weather here. We have drizzle only and during Winter & Spring really. Additionally with the bird sounds mentioned, they are not where I live and I fondly remember them from my time in Texas. So my ability to capture these sounds is impossible.
I need any sounds that are provided be license & royalty free. While I am not making any tracks for commercial purposes, I would not want to have any complications when using them. That and it is only fair that if a person is selling sounds that they receive their fair due. I don't want to hinder anyone's livelihood. Also, if we do trade sounds from my sound collection, all sounds that I have in my collection are license & royalty free.
I try to use either FLAC or Ogg Vorbis as far as sound formats because they are lossless. I tend to loathe the other limited scope sound formats that degrade with time. If possible, if anyone can provide any of these tracks is there a way to be sure that they are clean and clear from any other noises like cars, jets, dogs barking and other similar sounds that would take away from the key sounds sought.
As such I was looking to see if anyone possibly could help by sharing the following with me as it would be a great assistance and in return I would be most willing to see if I have any sound effects that might be needed and will gladly share them.
Distant rolling thunder. Medium and long lengths of sound. Preferred if each were isolated into individual tracks.
Wind that is mild but begins to pick up.
The sounds of tree trunks groaning with the wind and additionally, tree branches. Either together or isolated into individual tracks.
Thunder strikes at moderate and close range. Preferred if the thunder was isolated into individual tracks.
Light, moderate and heavy rain fall. Also preferred if each were isolated into individual tracks.
The Texas Whippoorwill bird call in a variety of individual calls. Preferred if each were isolated into individual tracks.
Texas Bobwhite Quail call in a variety if individual calls. Preferred if each were isolated into individual tracks.
Cicadas. Track of any length.
Any of the night owls common to Texas.
Again, I am deeply thankful if anyone could possibly assist with helping me to locate these sounds.

the "Search sounds" red box above can be quite sensitive to some words you mentioned
68 Creative Commons 0 sounds related to cicadas:

Now you can try doing the same for wind, thunder, and the owls
For many nature/ambient recordings I've become quite a fan of klankbeeld, a dutch user here who always has very high quality sounds, usually ambient and natural. Found here: http://freesound.org/people/klankbeeld/
It's all royalty free, just under attribution license.
