Hello and good afternoon everyone!
Along the same lines as my previous post concerning looking for a male voice, I'm also looking for a male-female couple (or just a random male and female, either works) to do a little voice-work.
To delve a little bit into the album itself, it revolves around a young couple whose love causes the apocalypse (hence why I mentioned a couple in the title, chemistry and that sort of thing.)
As mentioned in the previous post, I can't pay you (terribly sorry for that,) but I will make sure you're credited in the album download and on the album's webpage.
If you're interested in being involved in this project, do let me know!
Take care!
-Matt
PS: As in my last post, if I make money off of this album, I'll do what I can to compensate you financially, but I make no promises whatsoever now or in the future of financial gain from your contribution.
This works better and faster if you put a detailed description of the work you want done and the script in the first post.
(for example: if the script and the description were in the first post, I would already be able to see if I can do the job. And then if I can, I would record it right away)
Good luck!
P.S. Write the lines you want recorded, describe the general mood (sad, happy, worried, surprised, depressed) and how it's supposed to be said (slow, fast, loud, soft, whispering)
That way, I think that more people would be able to help you faster.
Good morning VlatkoBlazek!
You make a fair point, my apologies for that. I'm very new to this, so thank you for providing me with some ideas of how I need to proceed!
Well, I'll provide the script first, and then go into a little detail of how I imagine it going.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
F: my dear... what could it possibly mean...?
M: it's as if one of the great plagues of old has fallen upon us
F: but... why?
M: My darling, I do not know...
perhaps this is the end, that god himself has called us all to judgement
F: I'm afraid...
M: as am I, dear, as am I...
(pause)
F: hold me, my love
hold me, and never let go
M: For you, anything.
F: promise me something...
M: yes, my love?
(pause)
F: never let go, no matter what happens, no matter where our end lies
M: For you, anything: this world, the cosmos, even my life, only for you, my love
(pause)
M and F
love so strong, love so pure
love so mighty should endure
through the ages
as eternity wages
through any storm
may our hearts stay warm
only for you, and only for you
(pause)
M: I love you...
F: And I, my dear, love you, even to the end...
M: yes, to the end...
F: to the end...

As far as how I imagine it being said, it's a little difficult to say. The general idea is that, as this couple, you've just finished consummating your marriage, and then see stars falling from the sky, and basically the world falling apart. At this point, you basically know that you're going to die, and it's possible that it will be painful. But you at least have your life-long love at your side to be with you to the end.
So as far as mood, I would have to say fearful, worried, anxious, something along those lines, maybe a bit resolute, even. Concerning how it's to be said, that one is a little more tricky, as I don't feel one way would suit the script best.
My idea is to have it paced at a medium rate, not too fast or slow, but I'm fine with you varying it as you see fit throughout the script.
I feel that I should mention that if something in the script doesn't feel right to you, I'm fine with you changing it up a bit so that it feels natural to you (and your partner, in this case!)
Oh, and before I forget, on a completely different note I don't really want this sort of thing in the public domain, I hope that's not a problem.
Sound effects, things like that, are fine, but when it comes to personalized lyrics like this, I'm not too comfortable with having that out there for anyone to do whatever with.
Also, as this is an ongoing project, I'm still working on it and hammering out details, so if you commit to doing this particular script, I'll have to ask that you're available to do other parts if they're needed later on as I get more of the songs fleshed out. I won't give you one song here and there, as I'm doing right now, but I will let you know when I have it all sorted, and give you the entirety of the album's part for your specific character.
In case you're concerned that this will drag out for years, it won't. This album will be done by the first of April. This particular song you can think of as testing the waters, seeing what's out there, what people are willing and able to do, and what I, as a musician, can do when other people are involved on a project.
One last thing, if it's at all possible, I would like the male and female parts in separate files (wave, MP3, whatever works best for you. My preference is some kind of lossless format, but I'm more than willing to compromise on that point.) If that's not possible, then I will gladly accept a single file with both parts. It all comes down to what kind of recording situation you're in, what kind of equipment you have, all sorts of things, really.
I'm just grateful if you decide to work on this project with me!
If there are any questions or concerns you have, do let me know, and I'll do what I can to address them!
Take care!
-Matt
