Hi,
im a student currently working on a post production assignment. Im looking for a high pitched ringing sample you would hear in some movies after a shell or explosion goes off beside a soldier and the sound kind of brings the soldiers perspective into the film as he can't hear normally. an example is at the start of saving private ryan when the soldiers are in the water advancing onto the beach and this happens. any replies or help would be greatly appreciated.
I made this sound. I don't know if its high enough, but its about 13500 Hz, so you can probably find a tone generator program to get the one you want. Personally I used Berna to make this sound.

Cut back the high frequencies and it will sound dull and muffled, e.g. low pass filter, equalization.
OK Thx so much Timbre! At first it wouldnt work but i tried lowering the low pass filter cutoff frequency heaps and it worked!!! THX AGAIN!
Edit: Also one more thing plz do you know of any free programs that can progressively undo the low pass filter back to normal?

Hi kolanji,
if you make a new topic in Sample Request forum
with a clear title
more people will read about your request
In Audacity the Envelope Tool is in a box under Edit. The image is two triangles, one above the other with a blue line in between. There are instructions on usage in the help files.
