    Flashlights flashing...

For a game I'm making I was already able to utilize so many sounds here... many thanks for that! (I tried to donate but the donation form doesn't work at the moment, Paypal says the recipient is not able to receive money at the moment.)

    Anyway, I'm currently looking for:
    - a sound of photographer's old school flashlights flashing.

I want to mix it with the sound of a crowd in awe, which would result in the atmosphere of "VIP arriving on red carpet".

I forgot to add that a photographers flash is not called flashlight, just flash. That might help your search.

Americans call an electronic photographic flash a "strobe", (because they call a torch a flashlight).

I took “old school” to mean flash bulbs, but I suppose he could mean the “whoomph” sound of flash-powder being ignited.

Thanks so far guys, it's great how active this forum is!

The strobe or flash sound I was going for is sort of what you might see in a mafia movie when a 1930s gangster leaves jail, and there's lots of press surrounding him outside the gate, shouting questions, taking photographs for the newspaper... the moment when they take a photo and the whole scene goes white from the flash for a sec, that's the one I'm talking about (oh, I'm no native English speaker). My game is actually not specifically set in the 1930s, but I wanted to go for the sound most iconic/ representative/ known for this kind of thing (in particular because the pixels don't tell the whole story), and it's allowed to be perceived as funny.

I mixed together my meteor sound by now using around 4 effects from here. Currently, I got something close enough to working for the flash, namely some modern camera clicking I found here.

I can't find any real flashbulb sounds on Freesound.
However they are available commercially e.g. ... http://www.audiosparx.com/sa/summary/play.cfm/sound_iid.148011
