Hard to describe, this one, but it's not the sound of a mirror turning round. The closest thing to what I mean appears in Pink Floyds 'One Of These Days' (www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQvG2SMVl84 - I would make it clickable but this is my first post, so..) at around 3.15 to 3.30.
If possible, a variety of them. You'll no doubt need a synth as mirrors tend to be very quiet.
Many thanks in advance
That's the bugger, a waterphone. I was really after a one-shot sweep (like in the Pink Floyd Song) rather than modulation, though. Thanks anyway for the help.
I changed my mind about what I thought the sound was and deleted the waterphone post , but apparently not before you replied.
I think I've got it : try playing it (3.15 to 3.30) backwards (I just did) it's a stringed instument like a zither / harp / piano strings being strummed.
I've had a quick go ... http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=108290
Alternatively this backwards piano may suffice ... http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=10343
It's from this pack .. http://www.freesound.org/packsViewSingle.php?id=577
Ooh, nice. I've grabbed both of them and thanks for giving it a go. I'm sure I can mess around with them to suit what I want. Cheers!
Timbre I love that sounds!
If you need something simular, try one of these http://www.freesound.org/packsViewSingle.php?id=6027 with reverb added and played back at half speed
