Wow. Stumbled into this place last night, and it lit a fire under me. As an experimental/noise musician lacking in both instruments and recording equipment (being poor sucks), the immense library of unique, unpredictable sounds is an absolute godsend.

So this morning, I immediately started work on the instrumentals for a Noise-Hop album I've been composing for a few weeks, and the results so far are more than I ever could have hoped for.

The album's called "Animals Are Monsters", and is gonna be released (eventually) under my noise pseudonym, "Plague On Wheels". 3 instrumentals tracks have been finished, and can all be found at www.myspace.com/plagueonwheels (in crappy quality... darn myspace music, un-harshing my buzz). All the credits are posted song-by-song on the page's Blog, but I'll also post them here:

// I didn't put the exact filenames, because I figured whomever's listening to it isn't gonna recognize a sound from a filename. If I need to do this, let me know, and I'll change/add it right away.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy.

Listened to yer myspace. Good sound. I'm a bit of a rap nerd. Not familiar with the genre 'noise-hop', figure you're doing a bit of pioneering there, but i think the name fits whats on your page. Can't wait to hear vocals (obviously something you're approaching with some trepidation).

Noise-Hop's a bit of a made up genre, and it pretty much means Hip-Hop with appreciation and knowledge of noise music, both harsh and ambient.

The only people who have done it so far (to my knowledge) are Mike Patton, Themselves (with theFREEhoudini - GREAT album), and Dalek.

I've already written the lyrics for 2 of the tracks, so as soon as I get my equipment back from my super flakey drummer, I'll be recording those.

Anyway, thanks for the appreciation.

Heh, I was wondering whether to mention Themselves to you. Heard "circle", an album by Themselves' poet and emcee dose0ne and producer boom-bip? it's a good one. Keeping an ear to the ground.

Oh yeah, I've been a huge fan of everything dose since my first listen to "It's Them": still one of my favorite hip-hop tracks of all time. I mainly mention theFREEhoudini because, well, it's pretty much the most innovative -- if not the outright best -- rap album ever made, closely followed by Dalek's "Abandoned Language" (to my ears at least). I really have so much respect and love for the potential of hip-hop music... I only wish more people would take chances like those guys, instead of just acting like 14 year olds with a recording contract.

Anyway, that was a bit random, but yeah. Finished another track, but can't get to it (or the credits) until I get a new Power Supply for my laptop. The old one quite literally exploded, almost setting my house on fire. XD
