Hello Free Sound Project contributors ,
I’m responsible for all the sound design related events and projects for Scenofest at The Prague Quadrennial 2007. Further information can be found at http://www.pq.cz and http://www.scenofest.org. Amongst the many sound related events and activities I’m looking for submissions for our Babel Bell. A brief description of this project below…
“Before each presentation on the Scenofest stage the Babel Bell will toll. This will not be a bell in the traditional sense, but a loudspeaker. Submissions will be invited from both students and professionals to create a sound, which will act as a 'call' to the Scenofest stage. It is hoped to have a different 'call' for each presentation or event. We will be encouraging practitioners and students from all fields to submit sound file for consideration to Steve Brown. So, whether you are a Scenographer, Costume, Sound or Lighting designer, your contribution will be welcome. “
I would like to offer users of The Free Sound Project website the chance to contribute. Of course I could simply just search the site and select appropriate files, but I would like interested parties to suggest files and I will then select some to use from these. As a bonus, those sounds selected will be included on a DVD which will be available for purchase at the event, so it is important that you agree proper clearance with us which enables us to do this. No payment can or will be made and any proceeds from the sale of this item will go toward covering the enormous costs associated with the event.
So please send me a private message, including a link, to the sound you wish to contribute. These sounds can be in any format but need to be at least 15 seconds and no longer than 1 minute in duration.
I will, of course, notify those of you selected and please also feel free to contact me if you require any further information.
Regards,
Steve
