I got inspired over the weekend and (my apologies to the mods and admins) uploaded a good deal of stuff I created here in my bedroom studio.
Since I made all these samples I thought I'd try them out myself. It's a pretty short and to the point piece which isn't any masterpiece but it gets the point across of the usability and flexibility of the samples I made.
It was all done in Fruity Loops with a final pass through Sonar to compress the mix a bit before making the mp3 with virtually no effects at all except a little reverb on the guitar sample. All source samples have been uploaded here, some pending approval but presumably available soon ..
i dug the tune. fun ditty u did there.
did u chop anything up or is it all just straight loops? meaning..DID U ACTUALLY DO ANY OF THE WORK OR DID U JUST TAKE LOOPS PUT THEM IN FL AND BASICALLY JUST PLAY THEM WITH EACH OTHER?
cuz if thats how ya did it..well...no comment.
BUUUUUUUUUT
if u did chop things up and so on...then I gotta give u props. one of the better works i heard posted here.
They are all samples I created over the weekend using various percussion around my studio and a Nord Lead synth and some other synths. Mostly they were single shot samples, I then put them in Fruity loops and sequenced/played the parts. Guitar, bass and some drums played on the keys, the rest sequenced (e.g. the drum pattern) from the one shot samples.
It was loosely based around the 90BPM "Falling Arp" set I uploaded here, keeping the 90BPM (three different notes) then just adding to it. I also added the Protest Demonstration environmental clips to it, at different pitches.
good stuff man. I liked it.
by the way I am a fruity loops user as well (but i use cakewalk-sonar, Reason and many other things like live instruments etc.)
so I am familar with the processed you used.
again good stuff.
I'm playing it for my son right now (a 3 month year old) and he's diggin it-its relaing him.
SO THANKS!!!
Yeah I don't get much use out of FruityLoops these days I mostly use sonar also for my work. Along with the various ... in fact I think this is the only thing I ever really did with it since I bought the newer version of FL Studio. Been jamming with musicians live more again and BFD completely replaced fruity as my bedroom drummer of choice
Cheers
