@acclivity, the airplane noise can be easily removed using a stereo channel extractor like the one in Audition, doing this also results in a lot clearer sounding birds.

reinsamba, this is a wonderful recording, it should make a great bird sound effect in my mod, thanks.

There must have been some brazilian people in the percussion section of the demonstration, because they are playing a typical northern Brazil rhythm from Recife/Pernambuco, the "Maracatú". Please add the "maracatu" into your tag list. As far as I know, this is the first maracatú file at freesound project, congratulations ;-)

did you try to denoise it? there is the typical interference sound in the background cause of the missing frequencies...you hear it when people are talking in your sound file (not all the time)

File: rbh thunder storm.wav | User: amber_downthewells

This is great, I am using it to desensitize my dog to thunderstorms as she is phobic. Playing it very quietly at first - louder though it is very believable for her, and you can't fool a dog's ears that easily. Great recording.

File: 20070407.slaughter.04.WAV | User: dohocken

We shouldn't be so quick to label this a "cruel traditional practice". Nowadays people don't have a connection with their food anymore, which has huge implications for our society. We don't witness the death of our food or we might think twice about eating it in the first place. Our food is processed far away in massive slaughter house with no regard for the animal's quality of life. It may be killed in a "more humane way" in a slaughter house but when a pig lives its entire life without moving or seeing the light of day in a single pen I would't call that very humane. That's my two cents. Thanks for the sample!
