These amazing space FX thunderclap sounds were created in Ableton Live, using a signal chain involving a feedback loop.
The original sound was me clapping my hands or snapping my fingers.
The was captured by a cheap webmic, passed through a noise gate and fed into Destructonoid (a VST audio triggered synth by RunBeerRun), then the signal goes through ComputerProg (a sequenced gate VST by RunBeerRun) a flanger and a delay echo then to the sound output.
A feedback loop picks the signal up after the delay mentioned above, adds a second 100% wet delay at 4/120, feeds into DtBlkFX (set to some pitch shifting effect), then there is a gain boost and the signal is fed back to the audio input of Destructonoid.
