Not sure I can explain exactly what happened here, but uploading as these processed files seem to be popular.

Basically this loop

was opened in Audacity, converted to mono and saved as a raw file, then imported into PaintShop Pro as an image (grayscale).
Bluring and brightness/contrast processing was applied.
Saved as a raw file.
Imported again into Audacity (as 32 bit)
Applied a low cut to remove DC offset and very low frequencies. Applied also a soft cut to high frequencies (was too aggressive otherwise).
Trimmed to the size of the original loop (importing into Paintshop Pro introduced some blank space at the end).

If you have a couple of hours spare I encourage you to try importing sounds to a graphics program, process them, export and import them back as sound.
The results are impredictable and you will drive yourself mad. But you may get a few interesting files out of that 2 hour session...
