This is my first contribution to Freesound. It is only fitting that it should be an "alien" sound. This sample was created in Ableton Live 7 using my own voice put through a series of VST plug-ins. I cannot be precise on the exact plug-ins used and their order or settings (sorry, did not make a note at the time!). But what I remember was that the sample was created during a session when I was using a plug-in setup comprising a vocoder, phaser and delay effect. I used a web mic to input sound into the computer running through the plug-ins with the sound being output through my Hi-Fi speakers to allow for a slight amount of feedback.I had to tweak the volume and mic placement to allow for a controlled amount of feedback through the system, but once that was done amazing sound effects where produced! Judge by yourself.Warning: this sound is REALLY creepy.

Great sound, thanks! I'm using it in an alien landing soundscape to start my radio show tonight, doing a Halloween special. Here's the blog entry where I put all the Freesound attributions, and tell you where and when you can listen.

After first airing, it will only remain in the Gallery for one week before replaced by the next week's show, so let me know if you didn't get it.
