Combination of atmospheric synth sounds with a deep rumbling bass and discordant "tense" eastern sounds in the higher registers. A section from a longer piece which takes its theme from the Afghan city of Herat. I visited Herat briefly in 1974 but it left a deep impression. Now sadly devastated by successive wars.
