Combination of atmospheric synth sounds with a deep rumbling bass and an Arabic sounding mournful "melody" which uses the Harmonic Minor scale. A section from a longer piece which takes its theme from the Afghan city of Herat. I visited Herat briefly in 1974 but it left a deep impression. Now sadly devastated by successive wars. Beautiful and mournful...

Wonderfully nostalgic and deep. Inspired. I'm tempted to use it layered or juxtaposed with harsher war soundscapes just to drive the point, but that's just me. Nice!

I discovered myself playing this ominous sample again and again, makes me think of Pink Floyd, Nosferatu, this movie Shadow of the Vampire... Brings a lot of images, thank you!
