An antique crank phone that didn't work - but I needed to hear how it would have sounded - I manually tapped the bell with it's clapper at a regular pulse... copied that file to another track and offset it so as to double it's pulses. Recorded with one channel from a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone to SonyMD (MZ-N707)

The sound is good but it needs 'structuring';
as a series of double rings,
briiing,briiing.......briiing,briiing etc.
to sound the way I remember such phones;
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia circa 1950
