Passenger planes landing closely overhead (about 20 to 30 meters). Me standing near the end of a runway exactly underneath the path of the planes. Recorded with Zoom h2n at CD quality wav.

Thanks! I'm afraid though I have not yet processed this sound. It's an MS raw recording, and the Right track still has to be copied and inverted. :-( It sounds rather out of phase but misses any spacyness if it is not processed further.

In order to process an MS Raw file in Audacity into a normal one:
Split the stereo track into 2 separate tracks
Make those two tracks mono instead of a stereo L or stereo R channel
Copy the Right track to a new one, so now you have three tracks in total (let's call them track 1, 2 and 3 for the sake of this explanation).
Track 3 needs to be inverted (select the entire track 3, see effects, choose "invert").
The second and third tracks have to be panned completely to the left (track 2) and to the right (track 3). If the recording is loud, as is the case here, please lower each of the 3 tracks by 3 DB or a nearby amount of dB that's sufficient to prevent it from clipping.
Then it should sound spacy as it should.
