Large Tesla coil fired off in a very large old factory. Probably around 40KW.

It is unusual to hear a Tesla coil of this size in an indoor space.
Using a Sony MZ-RH1 Minidisc recorder with unmodified Panasonic WM-61 electret condenser microphone capsules.

Thanks for the recording. I may extract some audio from a video of a large Tesla coil that I have. But for now, you have saved me the trouble :-)

Thanks, Rmutt. We're doing a live radio play of mine and this is exactly how I described the sound of the time machine (ca 1912).

I don't know the voltage but I think it is similar to these specification for another coil by the same people at: http://www.lod.org/Projects/120L50K/40kWspecs.html
The coil I recorded was 11 ft. (3.35m) across
Video of the coil firing (a camera flash shows the coil, at 1:18 min.).
