These are finger cymbals, struck in front of an AKG D-40 dynamic microphone. This is really a test for the microphone, not production samples, as you can hear kettle noises on stove in the background. Still, they might be useful for something, like a sci-fi robot noise.
This file shows off said sci-fi noise. Or something. The wave has been reversed and processed with a Doppler effect in Cooledit Pro 2.
Recorded off an AKG D-40 dynamic microphone through Yamaha MG-102C mixer to a Roland UA-1G sound interface with shielded silver-plated copper wiring. Format is 96 KHz/24-bit, mono.
