This is probably worthless but I thought I would throw it out there anyway. I was setting up the recorder to record a coastal rainforest pond at twilight, along the Oregon coast. I am with our dog on a steep rocky slope, between the pond and a gravel road. I was expecting some nice bird song, but there didn't seem to be any birds around. In this "prelude", you hear me setting up the mic and recorder, and loading things back into my daypack. I also broke off a branch to cover the mic since we are right next to a road and I wanted to step away from the area while recording. At about 0:05 the dog sees something on the other side of the pond (probably a deer) and begins growling at it. She sounds ferocious but in fact she is pretty much a "fraidy cat" when encountering strange creatures. At 1:15 you hear a rock tumble down the slope as we scramble back up to the road.
