This is a Boobook or Mopoke Owl 'Ninox boobook'. I recorded from my front garden (in the suburbs) at about 10.00 pm at night. I have filtered the sound to exclude some low-frequency rumble. Recording chain: Sound Professionals SP-TFB-2 Binaural Microphones (face-up on a paved area) > Edirol R-09 (mic in, level 10) > 256 kbps mp3.
