Journey by boat across the Rio Douro in Porto. The small ferry boat connects the the small fisher village Afurada (which is part of Vila Nova da Gaia) with Porto and crosses the river a little bit downstream from Arrábida bridge (Fluvial to Afurada). On the recording you hear a radio playing music and three old ladies chatting in the beginning, then the engine starts and drowns out almost all the other sounds. In between you can still the radio and the people talking in the very far background. Towards the end of the recording the engine slows down and then finally stops completely.Recorded with Zoom Handy Recorder H2 with built-in W-XY cardioid-type stereo microphone.
