In Denmark, this dove normally begins cooing in mid-February and stops cooing in the early September, bu this year it already has started in late January ?!!global warming!!?

You're probably right Mike, the bird was against the light so I couln't see it very well. Likely it was the environment (natural open oak woodland) which prompted me to take for granted it was a woodpigeon

Hmmm - sounds more like a Collared Dove cf http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=13570 A Woodpigeon usually has a five-note sequence as in http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=20472
