mid mic was at 10:00, side at 14:00, so preamp noise from the right channel might in theory have entered the final mix... but must confess I can´t hear what you mention :-)
BTW, I recorded the same sound to both iRiver 120 and R09, but discarded the former as the latter obviously performed better.

Do you set the imput-gain rather higher? I can hear some circuit noise of fp24 in the background. That preamp is dead quiet until 'noon,' and gets up in the 'afternoon' and becomes a little noisy. It begins to 'drive.' Sennheiser gun mic sends powerful signals, so I think you can turn down the gain a bit.
