beep alarms from my Sanyo watch, and 'silence' as heard by Sennheiser ME66 (left) and Sennheiser MKH60 (right channel). Both mics were plugged into a Shure FP24 preamp, with gain knobs set at 3/4 of maximum. Recording done in a Edirol R09 set at a recording level (8) wich - according to most folks - does not add anything to the preamp output (may serve as a reference, since that's the combination I often use to record in nature). Worth noting the different sound of the K6 mic vs the MKH, which has flatter response and less self-noise.

This experiment gave me a shock. I also use FP24 and R-09. While FR2LE does catch the brilliance of high frequency area, FP&R; combo fails to. I didn't know the fact.
