Binaural recording of Pine forest ambiance, with birds singing (and fluttering near the mics!), wind on trees, and buzzing insects. Between 1 min and 1:30 an airplane overheads. This was done with a pair of Soundman OKM mics (covered with a DIY wind screen) placed at each side of a tree trunk, and plugged into an iRiver H120 recorder. The rig was then left unattended. The 16-bit original was high-pass filtered and most hiss from mics removed. Uncompressed sample also available (20071104.forest.04.binaural.wav). Great stereo image and presence, my favourite forest sample ever.

Thanks
This is one of the nicest ambient forest sounds I have heard. You have captured the subtle sounds that really make you feel like you are "there".
Thanks,
Dave
Thank you for the upload - I've used this as part of the sound design for a friend's university animation project. She's using it for non-commercial and showreel purposes only.
Nice sound capture! Used in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWaYapeMZAA
