These are 7 of acclivity's bell samples, mixed-in at various intervals. It shows how cumulative church bells can be: When 7 samples pile on, they produce a din that few acoustic events can produce. I also did this to explore "deep distance," a phenomenon that resonates very deeply in all of us: sounds coming from "way back". The second set of bells---the Downs (22804)---are given a distant entry, to demonstrate the kinds of space these instruments command: What other instrument could carry on a conversation over so great a distance? To show you the resilience of these bells, a few were cast in the 1400's, which means they've been battered and clanged for 700 years. They are among our most enduring instruments.

The samples, from Sample Pack "714_acclivity_Bells_Etc.", include, in order:

13571_acclivity_DommeBells.wav
22804_acclivity_CathedralOfTheDowns.mp3
22908_acclivity_FiveBellChanges.wav
34052_acclivity_PealingChurchBells.mp3
19562_acclivity_StPhilibert2.mp3
13740_acclivity_ToomKirkBells.mp3
23090_acclivity_WeddingBells1.mp3
