A wintry, remote medieval song heard from far-away and filtered through howling winds and chimes. The song is "In Dulce Jubilo" ("in sweet jubilation"), a 14th C. song-turned-Christmas-carol, played by me on synthesized reed sounds--processed to sound like the organistrums and portative organs of the period--and surrounded by drones. (Drones were common in that age.) Chimes, whispers and wind are added for mystery and "wintery-ness"......There are many samples of distant music on Freesounds; here I've tried to synthesize that, so if the melody sounds murky--as if coming from the next village--please know it was intended. The (wonderful) Freesounds samples are:

9111_Heigh_hoo_windchime_random.aif;
29654_dobroide_20070121.whispering.01.wav;

    This is absolutely beautiful and nostalgic..I am using this in combination with old family recordings of christmas singing and my grandfather speaking.. very ephemeral and moving. Thank you.

    Awesome . . would love some for commercial purposes ;) They'd come in handy for small productions like to place on Youtube. Anyway, great work.
