Recorded just after first light in the morning from the edge of lowland forest bordering Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, where we stayed at Bambua Nature Park Resort in Sabang, Palawan, Philippines. Various night crickets are still heard, but give way to the dawn wake up call of a loud chorus of cicadas in the canopy surrounding our cottage. If someone knows what species of cicada this is, please drop me a line. The crowing of a rooster, and the pounding surf from the South China Sea can also be heard in the distance. The equipment used was a Sennheiser MKE-300 mic, with an Edirol R-09 recorder.
