March 10th, 2010

The "Kugelbake" is a wooden seamark at the most northern point of Lower Saxony, where the river Elbe flows into the Northsea. It was first mentioned in 1703, the current construction was build after 1945. The river Elbe ends here and it is a busy waterway. You can hear that on this recording. I used two Shure WL 183 microphones and a Sony TCD-D100 DAT recorder on the 9th of March 2010.

Really great. I like the deep sound of machinery along with the waves. And the pictures gives the rest. Great stuff.

Inchadney, I really love this. I spent a while on the Unterelbe for research a few years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't have good equipment to record the sounds there so I'm really happy with this. It brings back good memories. Thanks.
