"There's some hard cut edits in this. it pops." - This particular S/FX clip was not set-up for looping, so an artifact at the loop point is possible. Otherwise there are no edits or non-organic noises. Cheers, Knufds
"What setup did you use?" > As I recall from the eight or so years ago since, I had a Sound Devices 302 mixer and a stereo pair of Sound Room/Oktava 012 mics (probably using the cardioid capsules in an X/Y config) feeding a Zoom H2 recorder @ -10dB line level. It was likely a calm day as with as the Oktava 012 mics are extremely sensitive to wind (and handling noise) and all I had were foam windscreens. I did have a pair of Shure A53M shockmounts though.
I used this one in an audio play: "20.000 Leagues Under The Sea" by Jules Verne; recently recorded in one of the lecture halls at Bielefeld University, Germany (by a student drama group). A just-for-fun project (non-commercial).
Hmm the website seems to have eaten my previous comment. I say again, this is an awesome sound, made for a great ghost train for my radio show's Halloween special. You can see all the attributions and download or listen links here.
