A Cuckoo sings it's familiar song and some passengers are heard waiting for the next stopper on the platform opposite. Faintly heard are churchbells and signal bells these mingle with the sound of a mallard and moorhen on a small lake nearby. The evening birdsong is in full flow. An evening passenger train from Norwich approaches headed by a Class 170 Diesel Multiple Unit and it stops in the station. The DMU accelerates away towards Birmingham, mournfully sounding it's horn for the foot crossing at Aliwal Road. A Class 156 East Midlands Trains service then passes through the station heading for March. The sounds of the diesel engines recede and the signalman places the semaphore signals back to danger.
