Diesel locomotive mates with, then pushes a freight train from the
rear. About halfway through the recording some weird scraping,
resonating sounds can be heard from the tracks in front of the mic,
locomotive is about 150 meters away. This sample pack is numbered
chronologically as edited from the original recording: Engine
approaches from left with recording #1 and exits to the right with
recording #5. Recordings are of a Diesel locomotive approaching and
mating with the rear of a freight train outside of a wherehouse in
Austin, Tx. Rode NT4 mic into Sound Devices MixPre, recorded at 16bit 44.1 with Sony Hi-Md. Edited In Cubase.

The scraping noise you are hearing is locomotive wheel-slip.
