This eighties-style synth consists of three one seconds notes, the first at MIDI pitch 69 (note 'A' above middle C), the second a perfect fifth down (note 'D' above middle C), and the third a perfect fifth up from the first(note 'E' in the octave above). This has been done using frequency ratios for the second and third notes (ie the second and third notes are 2/3 and 3/2 the frequency of the first note).
There is a YouTube video where you can see this sound being made:
There is an XML file at http://www.kangasound.com/xml/xml-listing.php (labelled "Eighties-style synth") which can be downloaded, imported into the Kangas Sound Editor, and customised.
The Kangas Sound Editor is an open-source (freeware) computer program widely available on the Internet.
