This is the sound of the 100 year old industrial elevator in the iconic Cotton Mill Studios in Oakland, California (where I moved into, a little over a month ago). The Cotton Mills Studios used to be the largest cotton mill factory in the Western United States (West of Mississippi), converted into stunning artist lofts. It is a very heavy duty industrial type of elevator, with old school 'call buttons', and secured by two gates that come up. This was recorded with a Zoom H4 recorder, at 96 kHz / 24 bit, and edited and rendered in Reaper.
