Recording made during a walk through the rainforest 150 km east of Manaus (Rio Preto da Eva). Typical bird sound of the Brazilian tropical rainforest, Screaming Piha(Lipaugus vociferans),"Cricrió" or "capitao da mata" in portuguese, familiy Cotingidae. At the end of the recording hammering of a woodpecker of unknown species. Sony Dat-Recorder, Vivanco EM35.

takes me back to the rainforest in Suriname in the 80's... it was allways easyer to hear the birds then to see them... so the songs are deep in my head and hearing them creates a wonderfull sensation!!!!thanks,
