The Oud is a pear-shaped stringed instrument commonly used in North Africa and Middle Eastern music. Its main difference from the European lute is its lack of fret and a smaller neck. This recording was done in the apartment of Hamza Zeytinoglu (Istanbul, Turkey) who plays practically all turkish instruments and was nice enough to allow me to record him play most of them. The recording was done on February 20th 2011 with a Sony PCM-D50. picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/59779290@N03/5475918031/in/set-72157626120416994/
