I used this chant as a drone behind portions of a ReMix I made of "If I had my way" by Little Axe, though first I had to re-pitch it to Bb and loop it so that it lasted a bit longer, but it was just what I was looking for so thank you for taking the time to record and publish it.
Your voice is truly amazing, to say the least. I've been looking for months for chants like this (I had no idea I was looking for Tibetan vocals, all the while). I am honored to display this in my future music. Thank you!
This is just amazingly creepy even though it's not meant to be. It reminds me of the movie Apocalypto. I'm working on a few short animated political cartoons, and although I'm not quite ready to add sound effects, this is in my bookmark list when I do need them. Great sound file! http://www.barackobamaismyhomeboy.com
Nicely done! I taught myself how to do this a few years ago but am out of practice. I would like to start again. It always surprises my friends and even makes me laugh that I can make a really low tone -- especially since I'm a girl. :-)
I can get about a semitone higher than you when I chant Manjushri's mantra (one of the only ones I know besides "om ni padme hum"). Yours sounds bloody authentic. A nice choice of reverb, but you should post a dry version too! Thank you for the very edifying post regarding Tibetan Buddhism. Look at all these comments!
This is so cool. Now I feel like meditating. Maybe I should send this to Barack Obama to de-stress. Barack Obama in 2008! Show support http://www.obamashirts.com
if you want to do this at home children, download the Delay Lama VST, (it's free), and hook it into a sequencer like Cubase. fiddle to your heart's content for best fx, and for as long as you like.
post clips up on freesound and sit back to await the ego boost ;))
