I will report instances of copyright claims on YouTube — ContentID or otherwise — in this thread. Feel free to do the same. Ideally reporting back on your method and success of objecting to the claim.

There were a few discussions on the topic before and you can find even more on reddit.

Today I got a "Revenue sharing in your video" email on a recently uploaded video in which I use Dark Orchestral Piece.wav (cc0) by furbyguy. The claim is by FUGA on behalf of Leonardo Travensoli for the 2024 song "Suspense", which might be this one. The preview doesn't sound like it but it seems to be a concatenation of free loops, possibly for the purpose of copyright trolling.

In my dispute I stated something like "I'm a Creative Commons veteran and will take this to the next instance if necessary", followed by a link to the sound, copy paste of the CC0 summary from that page and a link to the linked CC0 page.

The song is credited in the video description though due to CC0 that is irrelevant.

The sound description on Freesound states "Created with Logic Pro X's 'Symphony Orchestra' Jam Pack." - it might be that the uploaded song matches the Logic Pro X loop so much it triggers automatic identification.

The licensing of the original is documented on Wayback Machine.

Update March 11, 2026: I forgot about this. It looks like I may not have received any email notification but the claim is gone. So that was a success, I suppose.

Can't go into details, but I am suing them. One of them immediately dropped their claim upon receiving initial lawsuit paperwork. The other is playing disingenuous and asked me to provide them more information than they already have sufficiently so they can pick it apart and use it against me in upcoming litigation. The third, YouTube, are "reviewing" my production request.

YouTube et al have harassed me continually for years with extortionate copyfraud trolling and in all instances I defeated them until they cheated Feb 8 and 9 of this year (2026) by intentionally refusing to even look at the hard evidence I had the violation notices were false. They also made a rather serious mistake relating to timing that I won't go into here. But know this: at least one of us is suing them. My initial demand will be nine figures. We're going all the way and bringing this to a stop.
one of the business I'm suing appears to be in the business of crawling this and other sound effects sites and copyrighting THE SOUND EFFECTS as their own. Wildly illegal and intentional if our research is correct. It definitely appears so and this needs its own thread because if we're right, you ALL have a massive cause of action against them.

I'm glad that your problem has been resolved!

It seems that this is already a common practice for many and in all areas. We hear about it here and there. It's all very sad. I have no practical experience in such matters, as I do not have my own YouTube channel. But I wish you every victory over the scammers.

New, check this out. I'm too stupid and old so far to figure out how to attach .pdfs in this forum, but here is a transcript of the first two posts from what I want to show you. Most are from Reddit. Note: being mentioned here does not indict one as a copyright fraudster, and many, MANY more names not listed here appear to be in on whatever scheme this is, but you can see clearly in writing who's being alleged by more than two artists as doing at least some of it. The following is a direct copy paste of what was alleged on Reddit by an individual I have not ever met and do not know. If true this RICO violation teamup is f*cking massive:

"Copyright Claim by SourceAudio Holdings
Hey, I uploaded a video a while ago and it got claimed by SourceAudio Holdings. Appearently, I
used "FULL by Oak." The song in the video was the Mii Theme. I just filed a dispute, but, I've never
heard of the song, and I can't even find it anywhere.

Yes, the company claimed my video even tho I played a music called WINGS OF IGNIS but
what the music claimant was wrong and I did not use the music the reason they claimed
my video, then I was frustrated so I disputed it and then to my surprise the company
decided to release it, so try disputing it"

That's just one. The law firm looking at repping me researched and collected more than six and say there are many more. They also found other companies and even individuals - that surprised me - individuals being paid to let their amateur "work" serve as collateral for a censoring, fraudulent ban hammer on innocent artists and effects creators - and say my case is looking stronger and stronger.

I also issued an update to the Feds about what happened after I made my first report on what YouTube and their accessories are doing. Bro this is beginning to resemble a fully-thought out SCHEME and I've stepped into a far bigger pile of dog cr*p than I initially imagined.

Litigation expected to go longer than 3 years and cost greater than $100,000 but I can afford it. (I'd sooner not, but I can.) My hope is the specific Fed that I want will step in and make this a Federal case so I can relax, sit back and just contribute evidence. We shall see. Thanks for what you did and let's all pop popcorn together and see how this one turns out.

But yeah, several companies and even people (or shells erected to resemble or seem to be people) are in on this and it's a way bigger scheme than any of us initially figured.
