On my road trip to the airport in Lisbon, I setup my Zoom H1 recorder with my Mapplin telephone tap coil, hoping to record the airport radar.
I put the recorder in my backpack, but suspect the coil was too close to the recorder itself and the constant pulsing/clicking is the internal clock and other electronic signals from the Zoom recorder itself.
Nevettheless, there are some very interesting noises picked up during the journey. Origin unknown.

The sound that sounds like a UFO or the Jetsons' car speeding up and slowing down and speeding up and slowing down which starts about 5 minutes in is your car's alternator. I also heard the starter motor just before. Back in the bad old days when car electrical systems weren't filtered, I would hear lots of hams on VHF and UHF with that sound on their FM transmissions, not to mention listening in on police and any other land mobile service using VHF and UHF radio back in the 80s and 90s, so I know that sound very very well. I probably heard it on CB as well, but since CB here in the states is AM I didn't notice it as much because FM has the capture effect that makes good signals noise quieting. The 50hz buzz that periodically clicks up louder, and the hum around 300hz that wiggled around a bit, and the 500hz one was something else inside your car. Those are important harmonics of 50hz anyway. All that stuff didn't start until you started the car. Why 50hz I couldn't guess, it's not as if your car runs on AC from the mains lol. I also noticed some little noises about a minute or so before you started the car, I suspect they were electric windows or door locks. The alternator noise wasn't always really loud, like the position of the pickup device changed which moved it from an ideal location to pick that up. Airport radar is in the microwave spectrum around 5ghz I think so unlikely that unit would have picked that up unless you were very close to the equipment or standing in front of the radar dish as it swept by.
