Today finds me setting up at Dysart Harbour, but without adequate wind protection. Hence the recording being somewhat shorter than I'd hoped.
From what I could salvage between gusts this capture contains a number of sounds. Mainly:
-People working on their boats.
-Tourist wandering about and arguing.
-Halyards clanging on boat masts in the wind.
-Birds flying in and out of the 'weep holes' in the very high wall at the rear of the harbour.
Dysart Harbour was once one of Scotland's most vital commercial hubs. In the 16th and 17th centuries Dysart was so prosperous through trade with the Netherlands and Belgium that it earned the nickname 'Little Holland'.
The name 'Dysart' comes from the Gaelic 'dìseart', meaning a 'hermitage' or 'deserted place', which refers to 'St. Serf', an 8th-century saint who reportedly lived as a hermit in a cave just above the harbour.
Should you share, copy, distribute, transmit or remix this sound then please credit me accordingly. Do not use the sound for commercial purposes. A comment describing how the sound was used would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, I was a bit surprised at the sensitivity even inside the blimp.
Still getting used to its ways.
Thanks Kevin.

Yes, indeed, the wind can sometimes pose a real challenge, especially with a good and sensitive mic like your AT8022 !
Great job anyway !

Thanks Kevin.
Yes, Dysart is a lovely place.
Although, i wasn't having much luck when the wind picked up and i didn't have the dead wombat for my blimp. There was no foam on the mic either, so any wind hitting the blimp really distorted the AT8022 mic.
Glad you liked what i managed to salvage.
Much appreciated.
