This gentle recording was captured at the lochside during a walk around Loch an Eilein last May.
The wind can be heard blowing through the pine trees, with some occasional birdsong.
Loch an Eilein is defined by its position within the Rothiemurchus Forest.
Being part of the Cairngorms National Park, the loch is nestled within one of the largest remaining areas of ancient Caledonian pine forest in Scotland.
It is widely considered as one of the most beautiful and tranquil spots in the Scottish Highlands, characterized by ancient woodlands and dramatic Cairngorm mountain backdrops.
A small island sits near the shore, housing the ruins of 'Loch an Eilein Castle'.
The castle is associated with Alexander Stewart, known as the 'Wolf of Badenoch', a younger son of King Robert II and a grandson of Robert the Bruce.
Known for its remarkable echo - visitors can shout toward the ruins from the shore, and hear their voice bounce back across the water.
